Triathlon Training

I have decided to participate in a triathlon.  The event which I am training is the Hy-Vee Triathlon (olympic distance) next summer.  I started training about a month ago and have made significant progress in by endurance already.  My goal is to finish and to do it in a respectable time. Today I went 22 [...]

Restaurant Review: Ozark BBQ

Tonight, my wife and I tried a BBQ joing on West Center street in Omaha, Nebraska called Ozark BBQ.  For a Saturday night, they were not very busy and while we were there, it seemed that they did a higp porportion of their business as carry out.   The service was pretty good as we were [...]

Restaurant Review: Rivera’s

My wife and I ventured out to Rivera’s Mexican Restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska.  This restaurant is located near the intersection of 120th and Blondo streets in Omaha, Nebraska.  The food was very good and the pricing was reasonable.  The ambience was average, but the food and the service more than made up for the lack [...]

Book Review: SO You Think You Can Be President?

I just finished So You Think You Can Be President?  The book was by Iris Burnett and Clay Greager.  I purchased the book at Barnes and Nobles and picked out the book while standing in line waiting to make other purchases.  This book was hard to get through. It was written as if you were [...]

Favre, Is he Coming back?

Favre…  I am a Packer fan and if Brett Favre says he wants to come back…I would love to see him come back and play for the Packers this year. There is talk that Ted Thompson does not want Favre to come back, so he can start the Aaron Rodgers era at Green Bay.  I [...]

The Brewers won for the second straight day against the upstart Pittsburgh Pirates.  Prince Fielder singled in Rickie Weeks in the 9th inning to make Eric Gagne a winner by a final score of 2-1.  Dave Bush pitched extremely well tonight.  Bush went 8 innings and was at his best tonight. The Brewers are now [...]

Happy Fourth of July

The country made it another year…232 years young. Baseball, Apple Pie and beautiful weather makes for a great Independence Day. The Brewers beat up on the Pirates today, behind a lackluster, yet effective performance by Ben Sheets.  JJ Hardy is on a tear and continued with his hot hitting today.  Four hits today, again…I think [...]

Brian Schweitzer

On Larry King, last night, Brian Schweitzer, the governor of Montana was discussing energy policy.  I was very impressed with him and immediately thought that his ideas and outlook are the qualities I wish I would have seen from the presidential candidates during the primaries.  He seems to understand that the United States could be [...]

Milwaukee VS. Arizona Diamondbacks July 1st, 2008

Well, last night, Milwaukee failed to beat the Diamondbacks, falling to Arizona 6-3.  Dave Bush went back to his usual form. Bush shows flashes of brilliance only to disappoint in his next outing.  I think Bush’s leash is getting shorter with Melvin and Yost, but he bought himself some time with his two prior outings. [...]
